Chasing Ideas with Jeremy Cowart on the Bearded Tog Celebrity Photographer

Using Your Camera For Good

Jeremy Cowart is someone who chases the crazy and wonderful ideas that come into his head. He also is teaching the world how to use your camera for good.  While he’s been a successful celebrity photographer, capturing Taylor Swift, the Kardashians, Garth Brooks, Tim Tebow and more celebrities than we can list, his passion is humanitarian work and using his gifts to help make the world a better place.

In this episode of The Bearded Tog Podcast, Jeremy and I talk about the beginning of his career, different ideas that have failed and succeeded, the story of the Purpose Hotel, and how to keep chasing ideas.

Jeremy Cowart on How To Chase Ideas

  • An agent’s purpose is to represent you and do the paperwork for you, so you can focus on doing your creative work.  Your agent gets paid a commission from all of your bookings, and you never pay any advances or fees before getting work.
  • Jeremy has found that using a ghostwriter has helped his upcoming book come to fruition, and made it possible to tell his story in a coherent way.
  • Funding for the purpose hotel started with a failed Kickstarter campaign. It’s hard to get people to contribute money to an idea that they won’t get to experience in the near future. They did raise enough funds to get the project started, and he’s excited to continue working towards making his dream a reality.
  • It may sound cliche but it’s true. You have incredible talents and gifts and you can use them to make the world a better place.
