This year, I’ll celebrate 10 years of Mason Photography being my full time business. I remember telling my wife Sara in 2015 “I’d just like to try it and see if I can make it the next 6 months. If it doesn’t work, I’ll get a real job”.
There’s been ups and downs like with any business, especially a “nice to have” in wavering markets but it’s no secret photography has opened so many doors for me I’d never have dreamed of. This small town kid who got kicked out of college has traveled two 21 countries, been to every state, photographed 3 US Presidents, lived in Europe for a month with my family, and allowed Sara to stay home for our son Alex’s first few years.
That can’t be taken for granted, and I so appreciate any person who’s ever referred me, shared a photo, commented, given me a shot at your place of work whether it be an event, headshots, whatever. Every engagement with my work is directly benefitting my family, and I’m so grateful.
Here’s to what I hope to be an incredible 2025 and celebratory year with amazing people! If you’re ever in need of anything photo related, don’t hesitate to reach out. It’s the most fun to serve and work with friends!
