Our summer has been one huge blessing after another when it comes to fun engagement sessions. While I was recently in Maryland for Kelsey & Sean’s beach session, I got to come back to one of my favorite small towns for Maggie & Lee’s session in St Michaels. When they told me about their location idea I was pumped. But then they told me they rented a boat and we could take some sailboat engagement photos which is incredible!
These two almost weren’t a Mason Photography couple. Maggie had inquired last year and I wasn’t available, so she and Lee ended up booking one of our good colleagues for their wedding. But of course, anything planned this year likely has been modified, rescheduled, canceled, or something else. So when Maggie emailed me again to tell me their wedding date had changed, I was excited! Maggie & Lee are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and I was excited about the journey ahead.
Back to the engagement session: St.Michaels Maryland is quaint and the weather was perfect for the session. Gorgeous sunshine, a little breezy, and a little summer warmth. We walked around a bit hunting for some gorgeous light to go with Maggie’s incredible smile and Lee’s adorning looks. After that, we headed to the docks and set sail for sunset on a 100-year-old sailboat!
From there it was so fun and casual, plus a photographic challenge. We were able to adjust and walk around the boat, really having our way as the sun met the sea. These two weren’t thinking about rescheduled weddings or a global pandemic, just each other and their future together. Here are a few of my favorites from Maggie & Lee’s sailboat engagement in St.Michaels! Can’t wait for their wedding at the Congressional Country Club next year!
