I’m a sucker for Industrial chic, but I’m an even bigger sucker for weddings of folks who were past guests at weddings I shot years before. It’s like a big family reunion and for Harry & Julia’s Autoshop wedding in Northeast DC, it was exactly that!
We started our day at the gorgeous LINE hotel in Adam’s Morgan. It’s one of the best DC hotels to get ready in with it’s huge windows, modern yet subtle style, and what we needed on Saturday: lots of places to take photos without it being too windy or rainy.
These two shared their private vows and first look in front of the largest stained glass window in the area, providing a flattering and intimate look. Despite being a floor above two restaurants and a coffeeshop, you could almost hear a pin drop in between each word. Luckily for Elise (my second photographer that day) and I, we’re pretty stealthy so made sure to not be too obtrusive and just observe! There were hugs and tears, and some wonderful portrait time before we headed to Union Market’s Autoshop for the Ketubah signing and rest of the evening.
Once we started the ceremony, the light poured in at just the right angle to catch some insane flares which I loved. Harry & Julia had some friends and family read blessings which was so sweet. Harry smashed the glass and it was official!
The night was full of heartfelt speeches that made everyone in the room tear up. Candles lined the table and made for warm and intimate event. Once the formalities were done it was time to crush the dance floor (which these folks always do!). The band was killing it, the dance area was packed, and it was a great time! Here are a few of my favorites from Harry & Julia’s Autoshop Wedding!
