Getting to travel and give back through photography are some of my core passions. They’re the reasons the I became a photographer in the first place. This past October, in the middle of my most busy wedding season ever I flew to El Salvador to meet some of the incredible families served by New Story Charity.
I was only in the country for about 48 hours and those hours were primarily spent in the two main communities of homes that New Story has partnered with local partners to build. These homes are not only more safe and secure in landslide-ridden areas, but they’re gorgeous and full of color! I loved getting to see how families had made their homes their own. From starting snack stores to making the front door wheelchair accessible, it was so cool.
The families in these communities are strong, hopeful and grateful people. It was an honor to meet them. Here are a few of my favorites from the trip:
