So Sara and I are finally back from our honeymoon in The Bahamas! I’ve finally moved all my stuff into our place, we have a couch setup (yay movie nights!) as well as most of my office and we’re getting used to life as a married couple! So far, it’s AWESOME!
I wanted to share a few photos from our honeymoon in The Bahamas! With our wedding being at the tail end of winter in Washington DC, we were super excited about hearing somewhere warm to start our next chapter together!
While we were in the Bahamas, we stayed on the island of Bimini at this amazing resort called Hilton World Resorts Bimini. You can only get to the island via boat or a plane to its sister island, so it was really remote!
We opted for a 2-hour boat ride through FRS Carribean, a new ferry company that goes from Miami to Bimini and back twice a day. The ocean was calm on our way to Bimini, but we had about 4-6 ft swells on the way back which Sara did not enjoy! But she made it and was a trooper. What a wife 😀
While in Bimini, we made an effort to make no plans. Sara and I can quickly make any day or time all about productivity, but we were really intentional about just hanging out and soaking up the sun in Bimini.
Our stay basically consisted of swimming at one of the resort’s FOUR pools or 2 beaches on the island, drinking virgin daiquiris, eating conch fritters from every local spot and taking photos with the Fuji XT-2. One day we did go snorkeling at the Sapona shipwreck which was super fun! After that, we swam with sharks which was really cool. No cage!
Bimini was a fantastic place for a honeymoon in the Bahamas and I can’t wait to go back. But enough talking, take a look at the photos!
