When I first moved to Washington DC, I used to photograph a lot more events. As my life has been filled with more weddings (including my own!), I’m not able to take on as many. Ultimately though, they’re always fun and a new challenge for me photographically. The Planet Forward Summit a few weeks ago was a great event with a positive cause so needless to say, I was excited to work with them.

The Planet Forward Summit was held at George Washington University’s Media & Public Affairs building as well as others on campus and featured all kinds of storytellers and scientists. The gist: getting those involved in science a leg up on storytelling and raising awareness by giving them resources to showcase what they’ve learned.

It was a wonderful event and my first time photographing both the Planet Forward Summit, as well as any event at George Washington University. As a person who went to an 800-person college, this event was an eye-opener! I hope to work with Planet Forward in the future, but until then take a look at some of my photos from my first Planet Forward summit.
