One beautiful thing here in DC is that during a certain time of year, the emails for cherry blossom festival engagement photos come in at double the amount as normal. I don’t blame them, the cherry blossom trees are gorgeous. I do though, schedule every single session in the morning to help avoid crowds before the Cherry Blossom Festival starts.
Earlier this week, I met up with Mehmet & Julie, two awesome lovebirds that met while traveling at a hostel in Adams Morgan. Julie was telling me when they first met at that hostel, she thought Mehmet may have been of Latin descent and started speaking to him in Spanish. Come to find out, Mehmet is from Turkey and didn’t speak Spanish, or English.
Somehow they let love flow their laughs and kept in contact and now they’ll be married in Florida later this year. It was a pleasure to photograph them at the Tidal Basin during peak cherry blossom season. Here are a few of my favorites below:
