If you would’ve told me a year or so ago when Brian and Jessica came into my studio that I would consider them great clients, friends, and that their Congressional Country Club Wedding would be as stunning and bright as it was, I would’ve called you a liar. Luckily, all of that is now true.
The weekend started off like most of my favorite weddings: spending some time with Brian & Jessica’s families during their rehearsal dinner. One of the best-kept secrets in weddings is that rehearsal dinners are where the best emotions, speeches, and stories happen. The vibe was intimate yet joyful, and you could tell the family and friends present were excited to party the next day at the country club. These nights are so special.
As Saturday arrived, Anthony (second shooter) and I were ecstatic to have another all day wedding on our hands. Like a road or missions trip, spending an entire wedding day with a few people will bring you closer than ever. As we journeyed from their Catholic Ceremony at St.Ann’s in DC to magnolia and golf course-filled wedding party photos at the Congressional Country Club, our friendship was solidifying even more.
Evening came, candles were lit and March Madness was only slightly on Brian’s brain. He did much better at focusing on being married and having fun than I think many were anticipating! The party never stopped. Weddings where the dance floor stays full the entire night are a special kind of beast. The best kind of beast. I’m so glad I got the chance to photograph this incredible day with two of my favorite people. Congressional Country Club is a private golf club located in Bethesda, Maryland, just outside of Washington D.C. The club was founded in 1924 by a group of congressmen and other prominent individuals in the D.C. area. The club’s original location was in downtown Washington D.C., but it was later moved to its current location in Bethesda.
The club has a long history of hosting major golf tournaments, including the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship which is incredible!
