One of the things I strive to tell every Mason Photography couple is essentially to do things your way. Never do anything that you feel like you “have” to when it comes to a wedding. Keep it to traditions, ideas, and style that feels like you two. For Matt & Joanna’s Covered Bridge Inn wedding, they did just that.
It’s always difficult to choose but I think my favorite moment of the day (outside of getting to hang out with Sport the horse for a bit!) was when the wedding party had wanted to be present for a first look. At first, I was a little bit nervous as I want couples to feel at peace and distraction-free right before and when they see each other. Most of the time it’s the couple, myself, and maybe a member of the wedding party just to help out.
But these two made it happen and it was so so wonderful to see their closest friends and family cheer them on during such a deep moment. Many had seen their Cape Henlopen beach engagement session so it felt like the family already knew me.
Having known Matt for years as we were in youth group back in Lewes Delaware, I was excited for what would seem like a family reunion of sorts. Of course, after getting to know Joanna over the past year, I was far from a wedding vendor but an invited guest by these two and their tribe.
Also, it was my first time shooting a Covered Bridge Inn Wedding which made things even more special. Everything was so beautiful and intentional. The floral arrangements by we’re literally INSANElY amazing, great planning by Elevee & Co, and of course, I can’t get over having a horse just brought out for portraits like it was no big deal. So much fun.
There are countless memories made during this day in southern Delaware, and this wedding was a banner one for sure so here are a few of the photos that mean the most to me from Matt & Joanna’s Covered Bridge Inn Wedding!
