While it seems like many photographers in DC are rightfully hibernating, I’ve been so lucky to have three this month, as well as an incredible inaugural company party! January has been a wonderful month, but last Saturday its wonderful-ness was leveled-up tenfold when I got to hang with Anne & Jim during their cozy DC winter wedding!
For most of my couples, I meet them through pretty typical business means Google when they’re looking for a photographer, Instagram, or perhaps through a friend or past couple. For Anne though, I actually met her during one of DC’s popular snowball fights a few years back. Wanting to be a good participant, but not feeling too aggressive (snow makes me happy, why would I throw it at someone?) I lobbed a final snowball into the air towards the other side. It hit an unsuspecting Anne, I immediately apologized and I got to meet some great new folks that DC who I still now today!
Fast forward to this super special day with Jim and their families, it was a blast! Anne got ready at her home, where she and Jim will live first as a married couple which was so fun. When we can have great light AND a personal story with a space, it’s the best of both worlds. We then traveled to Shakespeare Library for wedding party photos and it was a fantastic first time for me shooting there. These two stuck it out during the cold and embraced the joys of being amongst friends in their best looks.
