It was a pleasure last week to play DC Mitzvah photographer to Emilia and her amazing family as they celebrate this time in her life! Emilia’s mother Maria wanted creative mitzvah photos of their ceremony as well as fun photos at their party at Malmaison in Georgetown. I love how intentional Maria was in planning this super fun DC Mitzvah!
For Emilia’s ceremony, I photographed the rehearsal at Temple Rodef Shalom in Falls Church Virginia. This gave us the opportunity to make any family photos as well as document Emilia going through the Torah and such without the photographer being distracting. This was also a quiet and calm time to meet the family so a few days later, they’d feel comfortable with me at their party!
On Saturday, we hit the DC Mitzvah party hard at Malmaison! There were so many kids and people who had been involved in Emilia’s life. There were dancers, a photo booth and fun props, and the hora! I love stories and getting to document this important moment for Emilia’s story was so fun.
