There’s nothing like spending a day with a couple who you feel you have a new friendship with. It only makes sense for us, as no other wedding vendor spends the amount of time your photographer does. This was especially the case with Rob & Karen’s Del Mar Wedding. After their cherry blossom engagement a few months back, we made sure to make this gorgeous and intimate wedding day a special one.
We started our day at The Wharf after some unexpected light rain. Lucky for us, that rain going away made for some impeccable light for a first look and portraits around southeast DC.
From there, we went to a church that was special to them and their families. With an intimate group, it felt like we had the whole space to ourselves. You could hear every laugh, tear, person-trying-not-to-cry in the building. We shot some family photos then headed for Del Mar back at The Wharf.
Rob & Karen, as well as their guests enjoyed an intimate cocktail hour overlooking the Anacostia river and did a handful of dances with their parents before going inside to embrace a meal together from the great folks at Del Mar.
