Delaware Beach Wedding | Indian River Life Saving-Saving Station | Ali & Bobby

August 22, 2018

It wouldn’t be summer without a Delaware Beach wedding, but this one with Ali & Bobby felt extra fun. For one, I’ve had pretty bad luck at most beach weddings. For instance, in the last three years, all of the ones I photographed were during hurricanes or thunderstorms, whereas for Ali and Bobby, the weather was your typical August heat but with that came beautiful sun!

Having the Indian River Life-Saving Station as a safe place for us to go in and take some portraits and let these two be them silly, vulnerable selves helped as well. It didn’t save us from the heat completely but it did let us get in the boat and attempt a Titanic pose or two (kidding, but not really).

The whole day was fantastic. For one, getting to experience a mix of a Persian ceremony but on a beach near where I grew up was such a good metaphor for the couples I want to photograph: those where I learn something while shooting it. For the party, Ali & Bobby basically sang their first song “500 Miles” or “I’m Gonna Be” depending on which version you listen to and got the reception rocking. There was a mix of DJ, the band, traditional Iranian music from Bobby’s hometown, it was amazing. A perfect day really.

Here are a few of my favorites from Ali & Bobby’s Delaware beach wedding last weekend at Indian River Life-Saving Station!
