Weddings like these are what I dreamed of during my early career. Easy going couple that is emotionally invested in the imagery with a lot of time and laid back feel for the day. That was Kate & Mark’s Nina May wedding.

When I shot their engagement session at Union Market a few months back, I knew by how they reacted to seeing photos on the back of my camera that we had (pun intended) “clicked”. From the basic stuff to warm them up to the brave and experimental they were open to everything.

Fast forward to the wedding day and the whole day was setup masterfully. Getting ready at The Viceroy which has tons of backdrops, views, and even a sick bathtub large enough for 6′ Kate to stretch out in for a cute photo started the day. After that, the 3 of us wandered through the Library of Congress and Capitol grounds for some romantic light. When it came time for ceremony, we headed to Nina May for an intimate friend and family affair.

These two made everything feel special. With Silk & Slate Co’s expert timeline planning and design help you could see these two were living in their realized vision. Take a look at some of my favorites from Kate & Mark’s Nina May wedding!
