Weddings are cool. Weddings with cool people are even better. For Jeff & Melanie’s Omni Shoreham Hotel wedding, it was the coolest.
Having met these two at a past wedding for Sarah & Joseph, there was a familiarity that helped us cut through any of those “first date” style jitters and get right into making photos that matter and are true to Jeff and Melanie. Weddings where our past couples are there simply are the best, and are anecdotally proven to go better (it’s okay to hire your friends vendors!).
One of my favorite things about this job is learning new things about my couples or something they’re excited about that for wedding day that may go unnoticed unless mentioned. For Jeff & Melanie, their families folded over 2000 origami cranes for an incredible photo booth backdrop and art piece for the wedding. So cool!
The whole day was at a new venue for us, the Omni Shoreham Hotel. There’s so much to like about this hotel, especially for a wedding. Its historic charm, lush gardens, and impeccable service make it a top choice for couples seeking a dreamy wedding experience. We loved the ceremony out in the garden and even utilized some of the gorgeous light coming in for family and wedding party photos. Afterwards the three of us explored the grounds to make some portraits before heading to the epic reception!
At the end of the night, everyone headed to Jeff’s bar “Never Looked Better” in Blagden Alley for a laid back afterparty that went until the early morning hours. It’s so fun to shoot some of the afterparty when everyone’s more relaxed and the photos are more authentic.
