It looks like 2024 is starting off on an incredible note! Not only did I get to break out of the cold Northeast for a wedding, I got to head to the Dominican Republic for Brooke & Michael’s Sanctuary Cap Cana wedding!
I’ve known these two since Maggie & Lee‘s wedding a few years back. Brooke was the supportive and happy friend while Michael was the guy that could keep the party going. My kind of people! When they reached out for their wedding, I was honored! Coming to the Dominican Republic sounded even more appetizing.
After I had photographed their intimate welcome dinner, the day of their Sanctuary Cap Cana wedding started as one would expect for a wedding in the Dominican Republic: gorgeous. The blue skies hovered over the crystal blue ocean and I photographed these two getting ready in their modern getting ready spaces at the Caribbean resort. With a swim out pool looking at the ocean and floor to ceiling windows letting in tons of light, I don’t think there was a stressful moment the entire day.
The ceremony was on the beach, a unique wedding ceremony option at Sanctuary Cap Cana I’m told but a beautiful one for sure. On one side was the ocean, another the castle-type architecture of the resort, and in the middle with palm trees behind them, our amazing couple.
Once the formalities and sand-filled family & friends photos had finished, we headed up to the reception space. At Sanctuary Cap Cana, it’s an ideal tropical wedding reception venue. There’s 180 degree views of the ocean, palm trees, and pools galore while the architecture is to your back helping show you which way to watch the sunset. Brooke & Michael and their guests shared food as well intimate and emotional speeches underneath einstein twinkly lights before gearing up for a party I bet the whole island could hear. The music was loud, the sweat and alcohol were pouring, and I think these two as well as their friends and family we’re having the absolute best day (you can probably tell from the photos!). I’d expect nothing less from their awesome Sanctuary Cap Cana wedding! Here are a few of my favorites from their tropical wedding day!
