It was my sincerest pleasure when Zack and Victoria asked me to be their wedding photographer! I was super excited! I was even more excited to shoot their Capitol Building engagement last week! The Capitol grounds make for some engagement photos with leaves, while the East Capitol visitor center really delivers those epic DC engagement photos! Here’s a little background on how I met these two:
Almost a year ago today, I had been in DC for 2 months and was stressed out of my mind about finding a place to live in the city, close to work. I had just graduated from the University of Valley Forge, had never rented out of anywhere (I had been nomadic, staying at friend’s houses, living overseas, home, and other random places) so my credit in that department (or any department) was low.
If I can describe the DC housing market, it’s like the Olympics mixed with the movie 300 and sprinkled on top with the Notebook (there’s potential for lots of tears and “TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT” moments). So, with me never being an Olympian or watching the Notebook, my luck was nonexistent.
Until Zack.
A mutual friend had mentioned that they were moving out of their place, asked if I was interested. I hadn’t seen the place but new through the connection I could qualify and not risk hundreds of other people taking my potential room. I said yes, and they said “do you have roommates?” “nope” I replied. My friend said “I’ll get you roommates”. Within 12 hours I had 2 roommates and a signed lease. Zack has been one of those roommates for the past year. It’s a pleasure getting to know him and this beautiful girl who started visiting from time-to-time from his home state of Indiana, Victoria.
