It feels like yesterday we were enjoying an abnormally pleasant November day in Northwest DC with Tammy & Tommy. Before their epic District Winery Wedding, these two got ready at the Mandarin Oriental, one of my favorite hotels in the district.
After getting ready, Tammy & I headed to District Winery to meet Tommy for their first look! Now first looks are always fun but primarily they simply help most wedding days go by a lot easier. If you’re a couple who wants to enjoy cocktail hour and go right to the reception rather than doing family photos then, first looks are for you.
If you’re still on the fence, here’s a link to our article “Should you do a first look?”
We chose the incredible Barrel Room at District Winery for it’s huge windows, natural light, and intimate setting (aka no DC crowds). These two were so cute and it was great to see this day they’d planned for a while finally come together.
Before the tear-filled ceremony we knocked out all family and wedding party photos on the stairs to the mezzanaine which is a great look in the winter. Plus it feels extra exciting when there’s people drinking wine watching an almost-married couple have their photos taken. It’s magical!
The ceremony and reception we’re simply epic. Our last wedding of the year and it went out with a huge party with meaningful speeches, epic dance moves, and even our photo booth THE INSTA made an appearance.
Weddings like this, the meaningful and the hope-filled don’t happen as often as you think. The legacy of Tammy & Tommy’s families coming together is something special and I’m so glad the Mason Photography team was able to be a part of it.
Here are a few of my favorites from Tammy & Tommy’s District Winery Wedding, with a few from the photo booth thrown in too!
Also, gotta shout out the epic vendor team from this wedding!
