Before I got into wedding photography, I always thought any precipitation on a wedding day was a bad thing, despite the idea that rain was good luck. Now having had snow at two weddings this year, I’m convinced it’s mother nature’s way of saying “Let’s turn this day up to 11!”. I already loved Alex and Alex after their Upper West Side engagement shoot, but their Excelsior wedding this past weekend sealed the deal.
The first thing I asked Sir Alex when I arrived at the Lancaster Arts Hotel was “Do you think Alex will be up for portraits in the snow?” To which he replied:
“Oh yeah. She’s all in.”
From that point on I had confirmation the day would be incredible.
Alex and Alex killed it during portraits, braving the snow and embracing one of my love languages: industrial chic. My first time at Excelsior felt more like visiting an amusement park than work. Later on, they’d have an intimate ceremony that was self-officiated: filled with friends and family giving insights on love, their future, and the day. This was so cool and one of those weird Pennsylvania quirks that makes a wedding day extra interesting!
Later on, the night was filled with fun and a packed dance floor! I even got to see a couple you may recognize from the Wedding Guide, Chris & Emily which was so fun! I couldn’t have envisioned a better day for Alex and Alex, so here are a few of my favorite wedding photos from their Excelsior wedding day.
I love these guys! Chris & Emily on the left and Alex & Alex on the right!
