I’ve talked about the equation for an awesome engagement session on the blog before. It’s simple really: awesome happy people + great light. When you add taking a boat out to a private island for some nautical engagement photos with Jon and Laura, awesomeness is inevitable!
That’s exactly what happened this past Saturday. I met up with Jon and Laura near Jon’s parents home in Mystic, Connecticut at the early time of 6AM! Despite it being so early, we were all excited to get out and enjoy the perfect weather that Mystic had to offer. We took Jon’s dad’s boat out just a few minutes to this island that neighbored an island named “Mason’s Island”! How awesome is that?
On the island, where Jon and Laura have spent tons of time (but never this dressed up) we enjoyed the sun and looking for glass that had been smoothed out by the water and good light. We had the whole island to ourselves for photos by the water, on top of the rocks and then some. J+L were down for anything, and Jon even did the whole shoot barefoot!
Towards the end of the shoot, I asked if they’d be up for letting me get some fun shots of them with the drone and they could enjoy a boat ride with just them. I think they were more excited than I was!
Needless to say, an incredible nautical engagement session in Mystic, Connecticut! My first time, but I’ll definitely have to head back with Sara! For now, enjoy a few of the photos before we went out for breakfast at Noah’s in downtown Mystic! Yum!
P.S. Fun fact: Jon is an engineer and made a robot named “Kevin”. There are no photos here, that just makes me love Jon all the more! Haha!
