What can I say about a wedding like this one? Not only since our first call were Lindsey and Ryan the most chill couple ever, they were intentional about spending a lot of time with their wedding party and friends during their Smithsonian American History Museum wedding. You may think I’m kidding, but they even planned wiffle-ball on the National Mall as well as stopping for pizza before the reception!!

The day began at the American Institute of Architects building, just a block from the White House. Lindsey put on her dress and finished her details by a huge glass window, letting the natural light show how beautiful she’d be. In addition to a gorgeous ceremony, these two even had their golden retriever Jaxon help out at the wedding and get a few photos.

Once the ceremony and family photos were completed, we were just with Lindsey & Ryan and their wedding party on our way to take some photos on the National Mall. I had thought these two were joking when they said they wanted to play sports with their friends and treat them all to pizza, but as you can see from the photos they were not! Generously they let Anthony (one of our second photographers) and I join in on some of the pizza as well.

Lastly, we ended this epic day with even more epic-ness. I hate that word, but wedding party photos on the roof of a Smithsonian Museum overlooking the Washington Monument are pretty epic! The live band, the speeches with a southern drawl, and no empty chairs during dancing made this day extra special. That’s what DC weddings should be! Take a look at some of my favorites from Lindsey & Ryan’s Smithsonian American History Museum Wedding!
