It was fantastic to have a few lighter months after my busiest wedding season ever last year. January was full of fun and job changes for Sara, in February I bought a motorcycle! But March was time for Emily & Michael’s special day at District Winery. Little did we know, it’d be a gorgeous sunset wedding in the District!
Emily & Michael met in a social kickball league which if you’ve lived in Washington DC for any amount of time, it sounds like the perfect start to a love story. Social sports, politics and a broken metro are the three major themes of any relationship here. These two are huge sports fan and spend most of their time working out, enjoying Nationals games and recently planning their District Winery Wedding.
For a weekend that started with the city being shut down due to extreme wind (like Iceland level winds!) these two were so laid back and relaxed the entire day. I hung out with them and their immediate families for almost two hours before their fun indoor ceremony as a gorgeous sunset glowed outside of District Winery’s windows. Post ceremony, it was all food and fun. It was awesome getting to be with Michael & Emily on such a cool day and the perfect first wedding of the year for me. Here are a few of my favorite images from Emily & Michael’s sunset wedding at District Winery!
